Halo Wars Release Date Announced

13
Halo Wars, the final game from Age of Empires creator Ensemble Studios, will bring real-time strategy to North American Xbox 360s come March 3, Microsoft has revealed.

The Americas will be the last territory to receive the game, with a European release on February 27 and a Japanese / Asia Pacific debut the day before, February 26.

Per Microsoft tradition for major Xbox 360 releases, the game will be available in two forms: a $60 standard edition and a bonus-packed $80 Limited Collector's Edition that will offer early access to the long-awaited Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack.

Halo originally was going to be an RTS game until Jason Jones and few other Bungie people decided to take it to FPS. (Halo 2 Documentaries on the Collectors Version.) So things are going in full circle.

yeah, and unfortunately with that story, they took it off of PC/MAC and onto console. Imagine Halo, but designed for the PC from the ground up? I'd venture to say it would have been far better, and liked by a lot more PC peeps, that's for sure. Maybe even rival HL in a way.

Even as mostly a PC Gamer, I still went out a bought Halo the day it came out for Xbox 1 as a launch title, but remember thinking to myself, dammit I hate this controller for aiming, and would run back to Wolf/CS/UT....I still can't stand playing FPS's with a controller, and sure as hell not for RTS. I still try, but it will never replace my PC setup, not for those genres

The original videos they released in Mac Format (?) made it look like a MMOFPS, it looked great.
