7-Eleven to Offer Games Alongside Snacks, Slurpees
The home of the Slurpee beverage has already started selling a few high-profile releases this month, including Guitar Hero: World Tour, Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3. Like other retailers, 7-Eleven promises to offer advance reservations and midnight sales of new releases, according to a press release.
Adding further convenience to the new game shop, a wide selection of pre-paid cards will be available, ranging from MMOs like World of Warcraft to gift cards for Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Cards will also be on offer for micro-transaction-based game sites such as Nexon.
The store has previously dabbled in game retail by carrying high-profile releases including entries in the Halo and Gears of War series.
7-Eleven, the world's largest chain store of any kind, runs just over 6,000 stores in the United States, which is more than GameStop's 5,100 stores worldwide.

This is...weird. You can't deny the fact that they will have the midnight release retail sales market cornered though.
