Fallout 3 Outsells All Previous Fallout Games in UK

Would people not agree that there are more people buying games now, than there were back in the 90s, aswell as the fact this game has had a much larger media campaign than any game had a decade ago.
Not that I dont think the game is awsome, just seems like an odd claim.
