Guitar Hero World Tour DLC Pricing Mirrors Rock Band

1
The first batch of downloadable content for Neversoft's Guitar Hero World Tour has popped up on the Xbox Live Marketplace, revealing price points identical to those of Harmonix's rival Rock Band franchise.

Classic Rock Track Pack - 440 Microsoft Points ($5.50)

  • "Rock and Roll Band" by Boston - 160 Microsoft Points ($2)
  • "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner - 160 Microsoft Points ($2)
  • "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield - 160 Microsoft Points ($2)

Past Guitar Hero games saw downloadable 3-song track packs priced at 500 Microsoft Points ($6.25), with no option to purchase individual songs.

Two other packs are available to download-- the Neversoft Track Pack ("Anything" by An Endless Sporadic, "Electrorock" by Sworn) and the Guitar Hero Duel Track Pack (Zakk Wylde, Ted Nugent GHWT Duels)--both of which are free.

It is not yet known if this pricing will be uniform across all Guitar Hero World Tour DLC. Some Rock Band songs are priced at a bit lower, at 80 Microsoft Points ($1) per song, usually in the event of a promotion or an independent artist.

Coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Wii, with all but the PS2 edition supporting DLC, Guitar Hero World Tour and its $190 band bundle will hit retailers this Sunday, October 26.

Thye pretty much had to follow the prices out there, else they would have been at a disadvantage. I've never bought a GH DLC yet, and I've spent lots of money on Rock Band DLC.
