Call of Duty: World at War Gets Open PC Beta
"These PC keys will be available to all registered users of CallOfDuty.com, including any new users who sign up after the PC Beta releases," reads a Call of Duty: World at War community update acquired by Voodoo Extreme. "These keys aren't intended to limit the Beta to a certain number of players; they are here to allow you to create these unique profile names for our Friends and Invites features."
Though the update did not specify when the PC beta for the first-person shooter will launch--the full game hits PC, PS2, PS3, 360, Wii and DS on Nov. 11--it did note that the "entire key authentication / master server paradigm is changing."
The shift will tie an individual profile to the CD Key instead of requiring a password and username for online play, making Friends and Invite functionality easier on the PC. "We didn't want the new Squad mechanics we've developed to get watered down on the PC," the studio noted, "which is ultimately why we decided to bring you Friends & Invites, and thus globally unique profile names."

It would be helpful if you could actually sign up on their piece of shit website.

Srsly, I have both an activision.com and a charlieoscardelta.com account and NEITHER ONE will work properly to get me logged in - w/the cod.com account I get a bunch of php errors, with the activision account I get the "we found you, but you need to update..." message which won't let me fill in the info because "my email address is already in use" OF COURSE IT IS YOU FUCKWITS, BECAUSE I ALREADY HAVE AN ACTIVISION.COM ACCOUNT- why won't you just let me use it here?!
