Microsoft Offers Discounted Hard Drives, Memory Units in Preparation for New Xbox Experience
The Xbox 360 Memory Upgrade Program offers Xbox 360 Core owners free 512MB memory cards, or the option of buying a $20 20GB hard drive. Xbox 360 Arcade owners can purchase a package including three months of Xbox Live Gold membership and a 20GB hard drive for $30.
The New Xbox Experience, with its Mii-like avatars and Netflix support, launches on November 19.

replyOffering the Core owners a 20GB hard drive seems pointless to me, since the Core has either the 60GB or 20GB drive depending on when you bought it.
I would have jumped on this had it been the 120GB drive say, $50 or $60.-

No, the Core became Arcade. Arcade is bundled with 5 XBLA titles and a 512MB Memory unit.

at launch the SKU without a hard drive was called that. That Arcade SKU replaced it later.
