Eurogamer Throws Hat in Expo Ring

6
European gaming site Eurogamer has decided to join the fray of consumer-oriented trade shows. The Eurogamer Expo, which they've playfully dubbed "E2," will run alongside the London Gaming Festival on October 28 and 29.

The general public will be able to enter the Expo for five hours for a five pound donation to UK video games charity GamesAid.

The expo's line-up looks like a mash-up of games recently seen at the Leipzig Games Convention and the Penny Arcade Expo, with several high-profile games like Mirror's Edge, Street Fighter IV and Fallout 3 on display.

The announcement comes in very close proximity to news that PAX and Games Convention would be expanding to new locations, and rumors that E3 would counter by opening to the public. As such, Eurogamer enters an arena getting more crowded with each passing day.

      It definitely is unfortunate.

The London Games Festival runs from Friday till Wednesday but they have the presumably bigger MCM Expo over the weekend, which covers "Video Games, Movies, Anime, Manga and so much more." Nice.

It looks like Eurogamer are running the games section of that awful-sounding Expo. I wonder if E2 is just the games section spun off into its own show.
