Awesome! Everything looks really good especially the super moves… but what about the blood?

These are the latest shoots and I believe the blood remains the same, with a burst then it dissolves in the air and does not hit the ground.

Anyone have proof, link etc that the blood will be different in the final version(Nov 11)?

Yeah, the blood is a serious issue, considering this is a mortal kombat game, which is based on blood & gore. The gameplay sure as shit isn't the reason I played previous titles. And with the new sanitized finishing moves, this sounds disappointing at best.

      nah, I don't know :(]

At least there is blood. I'd probably rage if they left it out completely.

        LOL :)

Ya I am happy that there is some blood, but personally if it doesn't land on the ground I would rather not have it at all.

You don’t need buckets of blood (even though I would love to have it) but at least have it land on the ground and stay on the ground as stains. I think the game would be very pimp if they end up adding it.

If anyone from Shack is at GC 2008 can you ask the MK guys if the blood is in its final state, or if it will change in the final build (ie. will the blood drop to the gorund and stay and stain the play field).

      Thanks

I have a friend that works for midway.

        The game is rated T

There is not alot of blood or fatalities ... DC wouldn't allow them to do it. I mean, honestly, Subzero ripping off Batman's head and holding it with spinal cord attached? While awesome, DC wouldn't allow Midway to do anything like that.

There are 'fatalities' ... actually, I guess they are more Brutalities ... like, Scorpion breathes fire and burns them, superman beats them into the ground etc ...

It's not MK voilent, but still kind of violent.

        Blame DC, not Midway.

So is that a confirmation that the blood is as is and will not land and stain the ground?

Wierd, such an effect does not effect the DC characters since there is already blood effects as is. I see no reason to not continue to make the blood fall and stain the ground?

Thank your friend if he can let us know the blood state.

So... it's basically MK1 on the SNES violent?

jeebus, the snes version had NO blood, but had actually a few quality fatality replacments (and just as many awful ones) . IMO, if this game is as fun as the old school MK's, it can keep the blood as is. A least it is there, if not in the buckets we are used too. I think this game is looking better and better, and the mostly 2d fighting seems like a great way to bring back the good ol' days.

why would you think it would change? its been said again and again, that this is a teen rated game. its not the same as past mortal kombat games.

i dont know why you're so hung up on this blood issue.

...because it's mortal kombat. If they wanted a fighting game using DC characters, they should have picked another franchise.

I understand its teen R, but if you are already gona put blood in, why would you make it dissolve in the air? Either put it in all the way or so it looks cool or not at all.

The reason I am hung up on it is it looks mental, it actually detracts you from the game play. It reminds me of broken animation, check out some game play videos.

Not to mention it is carrying the MK name, and its not like I am saying oh man I want buckets of blood and meat gibs flying every where. Is it so much to ask for the blood to animate all the way to the floor at least, and maybe stain for say 5 secs at least if they can not keep the stains.
