The Godfather 2 Slated for Late 2008 to Early 2009

EA Redwood Shores' upcoming sequel The Godfather 2 is expected for a late 2008 to early 2009 release, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello revealed at an annual investor's conference today.

Speaking on the company's upcoming roster of mature-themed titles, the CEO stated that The Godfather 2 would be arriving at retailers "a few months" after the November release of Valve Software's Left 4 Dead (PC, 360).

Inspired by Francis Ford Coppola's celebrated film trilogy, the game will allow players to control their mafia empire via RTS-like top-down controls. No platforms for the upcoming mob sim have yet been announced, though Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions seem likely, with a Wii version also possible.

EVERY F***ING GAME IS DELAYED NOWADAYS... How hard is it to actually sit down and plan out a realistic release date. Really! If you can't do that, don't tell the public. I'd rather not know than keep on hearing about this or that game getting delayed every damn day.

  What is wrong with being delayed?. The companies spend loads of money on creating a game and if that game fails to impress on the players all the movies is lost.

  Do you actually no what goes into a video game you idiot the time the effort all for people like you, can't wait until there's a game being held back you so you can have a dig, games get delayed so they can be the best possible, you can't just produce a game in a day moron. Months and months of planning at's even before they start to develop it. This is coming from a trainee game designer, you the kind of person i don't wont to make games for because our a moron who thinks he knows best. I would like you to try and make a video game because your fucking head would explode. MORON!!
