The Last Guy Trailer, Screenshots Emerge
Employing high-resolution satellite imagery of real-world locations such as Tokyo and Los Angeles, the game pits players against a bloodthirsty horde of monsters and zombies. The titular Last Guy must navigate the streets and alleyways to find survivors, fend off the horde and lead the people to various escape zones for rapid evacuation.
While no official release date has yet been confirmed, SCEA producer Josh Miller revealed that the game will arrive on the PlayStation Network "very soon."

Interesting premise, but the execution is kinda lacking. Instead of just taking sat photos and putting little sprites on it, they should have actually 3Dized the cities like google earth and such. That would make it much more compelling looking. A bunch of ill fitting 2d sprites running around a 2d landscape just screams missed opportunity.

actually they look better than a flat texture, that's for sure. Also keep in mind that google earth runs with zero hardware acceleration but still works on most newish PCs. I'm thinking that with the "limitless potential of the PS3" they could at least model a few boxes to represent buildings. The flat lifeless texture used now just isn't doing it for me, and that's seeing it tiny. All blown up I expect it to look worse. It's a cute idea as I said, just only taken half as far as it should have been.
