i can't remember the last time I've wanted a game so bad. I'm a huge Fallout fanboy...

I like how positive = open minded, while negative = troll. While one is founded on evidence (oblivion, previews) the other is just hoping Bethesda won't continue their path. Oh but sorry, continue bashing NMA...whatever gets your rocks off.

Probably one of my biggest beefs with the shack is that if you don't go along with hype you are a troll and a thread shitter.

Ok but people take it way too far. Oblivion, while not as good as Morrowind or Daggerfall, was a good game in its own right. Yet we have people reacting as if it were the worst game released all year. Obviously there are much worse games out there and plenty of generic rehash shooters which are much more "consolized" or "noobified" than Oblivion was.

Nothing can beat nostalgia. It is impossible.

No one can seriously defend NMA's community as a whole. Maybe you're part of, in which case I fully understand you being totally oblivious how laughable and teen angstery it looks to outsiders. For a game touted by its brilliant script and adult humour, all it seems to attract are retards that passionately defend being sodomized by a Super Mutant and Monty Python references as clear examples of what constitutes a game the best ever.

Erm, Oblivion was a pretty damn good game. It had it's flaws, but lots of people, myself included, found it to be an engaging experience. And the previews for this one have given me nothing but hope for the way this game is coming out. (And yes, I've played the previous Fallout games - more than once)

There's negative, and then there's hating just because that's the kind of people those NMA'ers are.

Are you part of the NMA community? The facts are that at worst oblivion was a solid game, and at best it was a classic, depending on people's tastes. The way some of these NMA people act is just insanely idiotic, reading their forums is like reading a retards blog.

I don't understand how you can't see the correlation between negative = troll. THE GAME HAS NOT EVEN BE RELEASED. That is the very definition of a troll. These people are passing judgement, and not just that, but in some cases literally wishing death on bethesda employees, for a game that hasn't even been released yet. They havent even played it. They are just assuming it will suck terribly.

If it the game had been released, and it was indeed terrible, or mediocre, and then these NMA guys started saying it ruined the fallout legacy and that it sucked ass etc etc, that is one thing. But everything they say, and they swear by most of it, is just pure negative speculation, actually, tis just plain trolling, and they can all fuck off. At least give the game a chance.

People pass judgment on unreleased games every day on this site. Why is Fallout 3 off-limits while Guitar Hero 4 or This is Vegas are fair game?

There are certain things that are fundamental to the Elder Scrolls series that run counter to what made Fallout 1 and 2 great.

Bethesda has said that they are aware of the differences between the two series. I certainly hope they can pull it off.

The fact remains that in recent years, Bethesda has basically equaled TES, and it makes sense for people to wonder if they can actually move beyond what is perceived as the only thing they do.

I don't see anything wrong with discussing how that colors your preconceptions about a product that you would be spending $50-80 on depending on what platform/edition you buy.

The NMA guys have a reputation for frothing at the mouth, getting off track and threatening to bludgeon someone to death with a claw hammer. I don't read the site, and don't know if this reputation is deserved or not. Even so, I don't see why some guy acting like a shithead should prevent other people from discussing positives/negatives rationally.
