No Alone in the Dark Demo Until 'Around Launch'
Developed by Eden Studios and published by Atari, the modern rendition of the classic survival horror series is slated hit PC, PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii in North America on June 24, with a European release on June 20. A PlayStation 3 version is said to arrive later in the year.
Tenebra had previously indicated that a demo was in the planning stages for PC, X360 and PS3, with a debut planned for early May. Claiming they were given incorrect information, the administrator later clarified that an Xbox 360 demo would hit around the game's release, with "no confirmations on other formats."

Not surprising.
Console demos have to go through the same cert pass the full game does. For demos to come significantly before the game, they have to start the cert process much earlier. That splits focus; instead of the whole team focusing on getting the game as solid as possible, you now have people split between even more skus.
Throw in cross platform skus and platforms where different skus are required for different regions, and suddenly you end up with 10+ different versions going out at once. Unless QA is huge, nailing this many versions at once is rough. It increases the possibility of bugs slipping through.
