GH3 to Receive Foreigner, Journey, Boston Songs

8
The next three downloadable tracks for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Neversoft's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock may be songs from Foreigner, Journey and Boston.

Foreigner's "Juke Box Hero," Journey's "Any Way You Want It" and Boston's "Peace of Mind" are all listed on the game's online leaderboards, though the tracks have not yet been announced.

A cover of "Juke Box Hero" was among the first pieces of downloadable content released by Guitar Hero creator Harmonix for its competing title Rock Band (PS2, PS3, X360) and has been one of its best-selling singles. In all, Rock Band has sold over 2.5 million downloadable tracks.

It is not yet known when the tracks will be released, if they will be bundled together, or if they are covers or master track recordings. Going by the pricing of previous GH3 content packs, a three-song pack would run $6.25, while each song would sell for $2.50 if available separately.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

Looks like Guitar Hero is getting some more "crowd pleaser" songs. And while this is awesome and I would heartily endorse it, I would be lying if I said I didn't want these out on Rock Band out instead (Jukebox Hero not withstanding). The packs are cheaper, and you get a drum track plus a vocals track. I dunno, I think Activision/Neversoft have to come out with new tracks more consistently if they really want to compete with MTV/Harmonix on this one.

I can almost guarantee you they have ONE person doing all of the DLC stuff...

Its like when blizzard had one guy doing all of diablo2s patch 1.09 ( or whatever) by himself... so it kept getting delayed over and over.

I can't imagine how hectic the Harmonix offices must be sometimes trying to get those weekly 3 songs out. Plus you figure they have to be working on some full albums or other packs which will be available down the road in addition to the 3 weekly songs.
