Far Cry 2 Announced for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Set in Africa, the exploration-heavy first person shooter is slated to arrive within the 2008-2009 fiscal year, which begins in April. A PC version of the game was first revealed last summer.
All editions of the game are being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, which previously handled the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Wii spin-offs of the first Far Cry (PC).
Original Far Cry creator and developer Crytek is not involved with the project, as Ubisoft acquired ownership of all things Far Cry in 2006. Published by Electronic Arts, Crytek's long-in-development spiritual sequel to Far Cry, Crysis, arrived on PC last fall to glowing reviews but a low retail sales debut.

Another lost PC exclusive. Hmm, wonder how different it'll be from the PC version.

They aren't making Crysis and the engine is not Crytek based anymore (it was but then was gutted and rewritten from scratch).
if you think the shots below are somehow beyond the Xbox and PS3 then you are very much mistaken.

I guess I just don't see the big deal about it being on the consoles, the game still looks good & sounds interesting to me.-
No I'm not mistaken. The issue I have is not with fill rate or pixel pushing ability of the xbox (although that too is a problem) it's with the ability of the Xbox to support the scale of landscape at the detail level you have in Crysis. There simply isn't enough ram or fast mass storage on the 360 for this kind of game (witness the limited corridors of COD4 and cramped MP maps) without some serious compromises to gameplay.
