Clive Barker Working on Three Unknown Games
Author and film director Clive Barker (Hellraiser) has announced that he is working on three unnamed video games.
No stranger to the game industry, Barker (pictured left) delivered a keynote address to the summit on Tuesday, titled "The Interactive Parallel Universe." His previous foray into gaming, the DreamWorks Interactive-developed Clive Barker's Undying (PC), was lauded by both critics and fans. Barker is soon returning to the industry with Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3, X360, PC), in development by Mercury Steam and set to release this fall.
"Imagining for a book is a very different thing than imagining for a game," said Barker, according to Next Generation. "My relationship with technology has not been comfortable. I handwrite my novels. Yet when I look at the images [in games] and their clarity, their precision, I think any artist would be a fool not to want to be involved with that.
"There are some ideas like Jericho that I love as an idea but really have no place... I don't know what I would've done with it 20 years ago," he said, adding that he feels "lucky" to be so involved in the design process. "This is an area of work where artists of every kind have huge potential...it's a wonderful playground and we've just begun."

I loved Undying. That and Eternal Darkness are my top 2 scare the fuck out of me games. I also loved the finishing moves in place of you just falling on your face dead. It's not something that everyone likes, but it's something that certain games could really capitalize on.
