World in Conflict Bound for Xbox 360
Massive Entertainment's action-packed RTS is en route to Microsoft's console. Huzzah! I guess.
World in Conflict had previously only been officially announced for PC, though rumors that the game would head to consoles--made more plausible with its action-tinted gameplay and moderate army sizes--have been making the rounds for several months. The game is expected to ship for PC this fall; no projected release period has yet been given for the Xbox 360 version. Vivendo declined to comment as to the development status of the console game.

I wonder how this will work. I guess they will have to remove the free camera.

My gut feeling is not enough people would want such functionality to justify any added development cost and time. After all, people go to consoles to get away from the desk and the computer. I know I don't want to crash on the couch only to have to pull up a mouse and keyboard (my MS wheel is trouble enough). Yuck. Not portable, not practical and not social. Can you imagine a group of people relaxing around the TV and then everyone starts pulling out mice and keyboards and jostling for space on the couch and such? Way to kill a vibe.
