Child's Play Charity, the gamer-oriented non-profit organization founded by Penny Arcade creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, announced today that it has raised a total of $1,024,400.31 in purchases and donations during this holiday season. All proceeds raised by Child's Play go towards presenting hospitals around the world with video games, books, movies, and toys for use by children during their time as patients.

Recently, Penny Arcade held its annual Child's Play auction dinner, which featured lots such as an appearance in a Penny Arcade strip for $10,000; a voiceover line in Bungie's Halo 3 (X360) for $9,000; a Wii signed by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, which sold for $3,700; an Xbox 360 signed by Microsoft Entertainment and Devices corporate VP J Allard, which sold for $1,200; and a tour of Penny Arcade's studios, which sold for $2,700. Auction sales reached $210,000 in total.

This year's total donations of over $1 million set a record for Child's Play fundraising, currently in its fourth year of operation.
