Battlefield 2 Booster Pack News
EA's Battlefield 2 has a new community update, offering new information on the previously announced Booster Packs that are being released this year. Due February 8 is Battlefield 2: Euro Force, adding three maps with a new European Army. This European army will be equipped with new weapons, and four new vehicles will be available to them as well. March 28 will see the release of Battlefield 2: Armored Fury, which will add another three maps as well as two new vehicle classes. Both booster packs will cost $9.99. The community update concludes by mentioning the game's next patch will be released "very soon". Update: additional Euro Force info is now available (including a list of all weapons) courtesy of the January Battlefield 2 newsletter.

I didn't think of it of a market-wide thing - I mean I can understand other games charging for map-packs etc. Its just that I expected ongoing development as part of a battlefield game. Thats why I bought the game when I had a few problems with the demo - bf1942 was much the same. Even then paying for maps wouldn't sting so much if the core game was being supported better.
However, this is now going to be the last game I buy in the series, unless in the distant future things change an awful lot.
