Worthplaying reports that the September issue of the German magazine Gamestar has a preview of Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth 2, which apparently is scheduled for a first quarter 2006 release. The real-time strategy game sequel is set to take place in the North of Middle-Earth, where the forces of Sauron are battling elves and dwarves. Base building is said to be less limited this time around, and combat is no longer just land based; naval battles will be included as well. You'll also be able to create and customize hero characters.
