Atari appears confident that their upcoming monster brawler, Godzilla: Save the Earth (PS2, Xbox), will do even better than its predecessor, which sold over 400,000 copies. They're so confident, in fact, that it will release inbetween Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo 2. I find out what makes this game so special be chatting with Atari's senior public relations manager, Matt Frary.

Shack: What are other specific improvements over the original Godzilla fighter that are being implemented? Matt Frary: Well, there's quite a bit - ONLINE, ONLINE, ONLINE! Yes, up to 4 players in an online match. That's pretty major for both Xbox and PS2. There aren't too many online fighters available -- especially with 4 player battles -- and those that are planned, aren't anything like Godzilla. Besides that, improved character models and skins, more detailed cities with better textures and elevation, more and larger buildings and better environmental effects ...

    leads to the wrong screenshot directory... close combat is nice and all, but I want to see godzilla.
