Pokemon on GameCube by Summer?
Capcom on GameCube Shots Nintendo may not have bought the company (as far as I know), but they're still working on plenty of GameCube titles...GameSpot has one new shot from Resident Evil 4, while Planet GameCube has posted new shots from Dark Phoenix, Killer 7 and Viewtiful Joe.
This is So Not News Sega's Smilebit is working on a new game. That is all.
Mystery Hacker Donator Revealed It turns out that the mystery donator of that $200,000 in prizes for Xbox Linux hackers is Michael Robertson, the founder of MP3.com who now heads up Lindows.com. More noteworthy than his identity is the news that the deadline for a mod chipless Linux boot on the Xbox has been pushed back to give developers another year to tackle this massive hurdle.
Driver 3 Shots Eurogamer has posted the first screenshots from Driver 3, the inevitable sequel to Driver 2.
GBA SD iTV at CES VEIL Interactive Technologies has announced plans to showcase their SD-based iTV technology working on a Game Boy Advance at next week's CES show. The technology allows extra content to be optically streamed to digital devices (such as a GBA or cell phone) using ordinary television broadcast signals. Whee.
Summoner: A Goddess Reborn Preview In a surprise update this evening, GameSpot has posted a new preview of Summoner: A Goddess Reborn, which is the fancy name for the GameCube port of Summoner 2 (I assume the name change is because the first one was a PS2 exclusive).
| Ghost Updates Blizzard has updated their official StarCraft: Ghost site with a new Q&A, as well as one new piece of concept artwork from the game. |
Console Game of the Evening: Ranma 1/2 for the SNES. There were a lot of these games released in Japan, and I'm not sure which one I played, but it was a lot of fun. If you can imagine Street Fighter online with lots of slapstick humor, you've got the picture.

I still cannot decide between Xbox/Ps2/GC. Otherwise I'd have one of them by now.
Leaning towards Xbox, but it's such a tough decision. Argh.-

That's just it. No matter which system I buy, there will still be the other sweetass games for the OTHER systems, which I'll want to play. So I'll be happy with either, but in a way I'll also regret buying whichever one I do.
I'd love to get a ps2 and vice city, but then I get no metroid prime or halo
I'd love to get an xbox with halo, but then I get no metroid prime or vice city
I'd love to get a gc with metroid prime, but then I get no vice city or halo.
Those games are just examples of course, theres a lot of games I'd love to have for each system. I could get all three, but I don't exactly have the money for that.
I'll be a happy man the day there is only one console, with every company backing it.-
Vice City -> Comming to PC
Halo -> Comming to PC
Metroid Prime X no way in hell is it coming to PC
I'm not a huge fan of the PS2 but between the Xbox and the Gamecube this is how it seems to me. The Xbox seems to have sorta the same style games you get on the PC, while the Gamecube's are very different. So if you've got a bad PC and want to shift away from the PC as a gaming platform, but play the same games, go Xbox. If you just want to be able to play more PC-ish games get an Xbox. If you want something different compared to what you get on your PC go Gamecube.
That's they way I thought about it and my Gamecube is currently rocking my world.
and it could be rocking my world even more if Metroid Prime was out here!! Come on Jack and Zoid show us Aussies some lovin'

Here is what I look at:
What do you value the most:
1. Great Multiplayer Games Get a GC
2. Great RPGs Get a PS2
3. Huge game selection Get a PS2
4. a specific franchise Get the system it is on
5. being able to watch DVDs on your game system get a PS2, well I guess you could get a xbox too
6. Not having to keep an up-to-date computer to play the newest games Get an xbox
7. Want to play online Right now this is a "Get an xbox", but that could change

It depends on the games your looking for and the devs you like..
xbox:
====
* Bungie Studios -> Halo series + god knowns what else
* Rare -> Starfox/Conkers/Perfect Dark/Killer Instinct/bleh
* Sega -> Most of Smilebit's stuff -> Panzer Dragoon Orta, JSRF, Gunvalkyrie & Sega GT2K2
* Peter Molyneux's stuff -> Fable (formaly known as Project Ego) & BC.. Those might make it to the PC eventually, tho...
* Techmo -> Dead or Alive franchise + ???
* Microsoft Game studios -> Crimson Skies, some sport titles + ???
GCN
===
* Capcom -> Killer 7, Resident Evil series, Viewtiful Joe, Product Number 03, Dead Phoenix + ????
* Nintendo -> Metroid, Mario, Zelda, pokemon + ???
* Sega -> Phantasy Star Online series, Sonic franchise & the Super Monkey Ball series
Sony
====
* Rockstar Games -> GTA franchise & state of emergency. note that so far every GTA game made its way to the PC eventually, but if you dont like waiting and/or prefer to play that type of games on a console, than the PS2 is your choice
* SCEE&SCEA -> Gran Turismo franchis, Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, ICO, The Getaway, The Mark of Kri, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus + god knows what else..
Said companies contain many well known devs, such as Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Polyphony Digital & many others.
* Namco -> Tekken franchise, Xenosaga, Ace Combat franchise + ???
* Sega -> Virtua Fighter franchise
I'm prolly leaving out a lot of titles here, but thats enough info so you can get a (somewhat) clear view of the picture.. -

The best part is that you Xbox fanboys can't help but name games that aren't even released, or even CLOSE to being released. Story of the consoles life really, all their games get so much hype, and more then 3/4 of them completly FLOP. Remeber wreckless, the GTA killer? Or New Legends? Or any of those other hyped to fuck Xbox games?
Of course not, because once they all flounder they are conviently swept under the rug and everyone forgets they existed.
Try naming games that have been RELEASED, atleast I can do that when I recommend a PS2 to someone.
