Nintendo Switch Dock Out of Stock on the Nintendo Store (Update)
You can't buy a refurb docking port for the new handheld console separately, at least for the time being.
Update: A Nintendo representative told Shacknews that the refurbished Switch dock is simply out of stock temporarily. Meanwhile the Nintendo Switch dock set, which also includes an additional HDMI cable and AC adapter, will be available for sale sometime this spring.
Original Story: There have been some complaints surfacing about the Nintendo Switch dock that have emerged since the console's launch last week. Reports have surfaced about scratched Switch screens when removing the device, and the dock getting slightly bent out of shape. In a move that may or may not be related to the complaints, the dock apparently is no longer available for sale.
The dock, which sells for $89.99 separately, has been pulled from the Nintendo Store without explanation. A quick search of partner retail sites also shows no listings for the Switch dock. If any links are found, this pops up:
It is unclear if the units have been recalled, or if this is just a temporary halt in sales for some reason. If it is a recall, it raises the question of how Nintendo will treat those who have already purchased a problematic dock, especially if modicfications are being made to fix the issues.
In addition, it looks the the Joy-Con driving wheel has been pulled as well.
We have reached out to Nintendo for comment and will update the story as more information becomes available.

No, the docks come with the system, you just can't buy extra's like they announced back in January. I think it's both because they're trying to get as many Switches out as possible and because they might be adding a rubber bumper or something to avoid scratching. I've put it in and taken it out quite a bit so far with no issues, so I'm not sure it's such a big deal.

You had the original model 3DS? I did, and it definitely scratched itself. Nintendo replaced it under warranty. Now I'm using a screen protector so it doesn't happen again.
I did carry it in my pocket though, used it on the train a lot in Chicago. So the extra pressure created between the two halves in my pocket probably hastened the scratching. But I'm glad I noticed it before my warranty expired.l
