Gears of War fans will be as familiar with the Carmine family as they are with the Fenix family as no matter what version of the game we play, there will always be one member of the family who is ready to give their all for the safety and well being of everyone around them.
With the official release of Gears of War 4 just a few hours away, we have a new Carmine who is ready to lay down his life, but his inclusion in the game may not be as obvious as it’s been in previous Gears of War titles. We’re here to help you not only find Carmine, but to also learn what his ultimate fate will be.
Carmine Reporting For Duty!
To get to the point where we’re briefly introduced to Carmine, you’ll need to progress through Gears of War 4’s campaign to Act I: Chapter 4 - A Few Snags. Once you get to this point in the story, you’ll be making your way through an Outsider camp while carrying a Fabricator. As you make your way through the camp, Reyna will be guiding you to a spot to drop the Fabricator while also preparing for an upcoming attack.
You’ll get to a point where Oscar is speaking with a soldier with a familiar mask, who he praises for his aiming abilities. Once Oscar tells Reyna the wall turrets are ready, she then orders the masked soldier to get up there to defend the camp. “Carmine! Get back up there!” We guess we have found our Carmine!
Another Carmine Bites The Dust?
There isn’t a Carmine that isn’t ready for a fight, so Damian Carmine climbs up to the wall turrets to help defend the camp.
(SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT)
If you’ve made it past that brief disclaimer, that means you’re ready to know Carmine’s fate. Even though Clay Carmine broke the streak of his family dying during battle, Damian Carmine apparently jumps right back into the tradition of being a living target for enemies to kill. In Gears of War 4, Damian Carmine falls in battle after an enemy dropship bombards the camp with pods, one of which strikes the very wall turret nest he was told to go to.
