E3 2016: New Halo Wars 2 release date revealed, beta beginning today

Microsoft, 343 Industries, and The Creative Assembly have some new details to share regarding its upcoming RTS, Halo Wars 2.

It’s been nearly a year since Microsoft revealed Halo Wars 2 for both Xbox One and Windows 10 at Gamescom 2015. Since then, both Microsoft and 343 Industries have kept quiet regarding the upcoming RTS game, although in the days leading up to E3 2016, we learned a beta for Halo Wars 2 will be taking place this week. In addition to the upcoming beta, we’ve learned some new information regarding Halo Wars 2.

Microsoft announced that Halo Wars 2 will be on Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 21, 2017. However, a week-long beta is starting today for players to try it out for themselves.

  Looks like this continues the story from the first game most likely. You can just about make out the Spirit of Fire ship when the ODST's come raining down and the UNSC officer has his chest patch covered but it looks like the same crew patch from the first game.
