Invasions and PVP are a huge thing for the Dark Souls community and From Software hasn’t disappointed in Dark Souls 3’s lineup of PVP activities. Unlike previous Souls games you aren’t just limited to being a nasty spirit invading another player’s world, instead you have options to help you take down other players in more interesting ways. This guide will showcase the various ways that you can engage in PVP activities within the Dark Souls 3 universe.

Become a Protector

Though technically not invading, joining either the Blue Sentinels or Blades of the Darkmoon Covenants will enlist you as a “protector of the weak”. Basically this means you’ll be automatically summoned into the game world of other players in the applicable covenant whenever they are in the same area as you and are invaded. It’s a nice way to engage in PVP activity if you aren’t just looking to ruin the days of any do-gooder you find throughout the world of Lothric.

The Old-Fashioned Invasion

The second option you have is to simply use a Red Eye Orb, or a Cracked Red Eye Orb, which will allow you to invade another player’s world if they are in the same area as you. The Cracked Red Eye Orb can only be used one time before it breaks, however, the Red eye Orb offers unlimited chances to invade other players. We suggest using the Red Eye Orbs around the Cathedral of the Deep, as the vertically designed map allows for some really interesting and adrenaline-pumping fights. Of course, you can invade players in any area, so don’t be afraid to use it elsewhere.

Join the Ranks of the Aldrich Faithful

This covenant is one of the more PVP focused groups, as when joined it will automatically summon you into other Embered player’s games in the Anor Londo area. Just join this covenant and then hang around the Anor Londo area to be automatically summoned into an Embered player’s game so you can hunt them down and put an end to their Unkindled troubles.

Use the Red Sign Soapstone

Unlike the other options listed here, this item isn’t actually an Invasion sparking item. Instead of causing an invasion, or summoning you to another player’s world to help them, this item puts down a summon sign that other players can react to. When interacted with it will spawn a duel between yourself and the other player, allow you to engage in PVP without having to worry about hunting the other player down.
