The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD introduces a new area, the Cave of Shadows. This guide will explain how to access the Cave of Shadows, and detail your rewards for seeing it through.

The Cave of Shadows can be accessed anytime after you gain entrance to Hyrule Field. The game will prompt you that Amiibo functionality is available, which also means you can use any of the other Amiibo to gain their own special benefits. If you have a physical copy of Twilight Princess HD, you also have the Wolf Link Amiibo.

You can access the Cave of Shadows anytime from that point on, but be warned that it can be challenging. It's forty floors long, and you're Wolf Link throughout the entire thing. You also only have access to the hearts you have when you enter the Cave of Shadows, so if you're not very far in the game and haven't beaten many bosses or collected many Heart Pieces, your life total will be very low and make it much more difficult.

Once you feel ready to take on the Cave of Shadows, just perform the following steps:

  • Go to the Collection menu by pressing Down on the D-pad
  • Tap your Wolf Link Amiibo
  • You'll be prompted to save before you begin

While you're in the Cave of Shadows, look for special dig points every few floors that will grant you small rewards. When you complete the dungeon, the game will save the number of hearts you have remaining. From that point on, tapping Wolf Link will restore that much health. If you complete it while holding the Giant's Wallet, you'll obtain the new Colossal Wallet, which can hold up to 9,999 Rupees. Paired with the Magic Armor, which counts damage as lost Rupees instead of life, you could be invincible for quite a while.
