Just when you think you've ventured through the entire Don't Starve wilderness, Klei pulls the curtain back on even more content. The developer has unveiled a new expansion called Reign of Giants, which quietly made its debut today on Steam Early Access.

Reign of Giants will add new characters, seasons, and items to the Don't Starve world. It'll also add towering giants that will most likely stomp you into the ground if you're not careful. While there's a lot of new content rolling out with this new update, Klei does, however, note on the Steam Early Access page that the update is not yet finished and there's more yet to be added, pending some bug cleanup and balance tweaks.

"It's still missing a few pieces of content and will definitely have additional bugs and balance issues," Klei states in the Early Access listing. "To iron that stuff out, we're going on Early Access so that we can get even more people playing and getting their eyes on the game. During our Early Access period, we're hoping players will continue to submit bug reports, suggestions, and feedback on our forums so that we can make the expansion as balanced, polished, and fun as possible."

Those looking to jump into Reign of Giants early can do so with a 20% discount through April 29. Klei has not given a release date for the expansion on PS4.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
