Blizzard has released a new AR Viewer app on iOS and Android to help bring the pages of your Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Collector's Edition art book to life.

Those that purchased the Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Collector's Edition received a hardcover art book filled with drawings so vivid that they nearly pop out onto your face. To help add to that illusion, Blizzard has debuted a new AR Viewer app for iOS and Android.

The Blizzard AR Viewer takes the art from inside the Reaper of Souls Collector's Edition art book and brings them to life using augmented reality and animation on a smartphone screen. You can see how the process works by watching the video below.

Those that don't own the Collector's Edition art book can still use the AR Viewer app with a special .pdf file on Battle.net. The site also contains the app's minimum requirements for both iOS and Android.

The Blizzard AR Viewer app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play store.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
