Deus Ex: The Fall jacking into PC in March

Mobile spin-off Deus Ex: The Fall looked like a Deus Ex game, and swam like a Deus Ex game, but quacked like a Deus Ex game with horrible touchscreen controls. How very pleasant, then, that it's coming to PC with support for keyboard and mouse or controllers, of course, and a few extra changes t'boot.

Deus Ex: The Fall is a side-story prequel doodad, starring a character from Human Revolution's tie-in novel. Ben Saxon sneaks around, chatting with folks, turning himself into a snazzy cyborg, and generally stirring up trouble as only a transhuman mercenary can.

It's slated to launch for PC via Steam on March 25, priced at $9.99, publisher Square Enix announced today. The AI is tweaked, auto-target is removed, the tutorial is improved, and the microtransactions to buy cash are gone (the in-game economy is accordingly adjusted).

"For the most part, it looks and feels like a Deus Ex game," Ozzie concluded in our review of the original iOS version. "Stages, cutscenes, and visuals are on par with those of Human Revolution. Unfortunately, I couldn't put aside how clunky the controls feel without a controller or mouse/keyboard." He shall be pleased.

Human Revolution developer Eidos Montreal is working on a next-gen Deus Ex, but only has concept art to show for now.

Here's an old trailer showing off The Fall on iPad:
