The wonderful folks at Hammond Robotics continue to pump out killer Titans at a breakneck pace. The fictional company has unveiled the latest Titan class for Titanfall: the Atlas.

Described as "the workhorse of the Titan classes," the Atlas offers protection and increased mobility over the heavier Ogre, making it more ideal for recon missions and tactical support.

Watch the Atlas shoot many bullets at hapless soldiers in the trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Seems like it could be some kind of copyright issue?

Is it wrong that I just can't look forward to this game without a SP mode?

I thought there was a campaign system similar to Brink that can be completed in multiplayer?

Have they said there will not be a way to do that solo? I'd imagine they would include that.

Brink was a lot of fun man.

It had some pretty ugly technical issues that made things unpleasant for some but when it worked it was a really cool game.

Yeah, Brink's undoing was bad bot AI, and bad map balance issues. Weapon balance was okay, but if you were on the "wrong" side of an objective matchup, it felt like you were firing blanks.

It's not wrong if you prefer single player campaigns. I've had enough generic stories, linear corridors, and terrible AI in these shooters.

Maybe after it's established and if it's a success they'll have enough development resources to do a good campaign, but honestly I wish more MP focused shooters would ditch the SP entirely. Like Battlefield 4. It's so unnecessary.

If you like that kinda thing, no, not at all. Personally, some of my favorite games have been multiplayer-only (I don't count playing multiplayer maps and modes with bots to be singleplayer), and I wish DICE/EA would go back to just focusing their efforts on multi only for Battlefield.

Every time I look at this game, I just wish other developers would license tech from From Software and make an interesting Mech game that had mechs that controlled just as well as the ones in Armored Core.

      FUUUUUUCK

All I see in this game, is 2142... and we probably won't get a sequel because well, 2143 would conflict with EA's sales of Titanfall.

This is much more of an arena shooter than a Battlefield thing.

I honestly hope TItanfall does really well both critically and sales wise. That way EA can stop trying to make their franchises compete with CoD.

Titanfall is absolutely competing in the same space as CoD.

In fact it is probably more similar to CoD than pretty much every other big name shooter out there.

Basically it is nothing but CoD with wall jumping and Mech's for killstreaks from what I've seen.

I think that's his point. With Titanfall they could stop putting their other franchises (like Battlefield) up against Call of Duty directly because this can be a real competitor due to all the similarities they share. Although there is no single player campaign so it's probably not going to be seen that way to most people.

And if Titanfall is super successful, that could also convince them to make their other franchises even more CoD like. I dunno, could see it going either way! That would be horrible.

Yea Pyide that's what I was getting at. Hopefully EA doesn't see it the other way though.
