The Sims 4 designed for lower-end machines

"We're really excited to say that players on lower end machines are going to have a much better experience on The Sims 4 than they did with The Sims 3," producer Ryan Vaughn said.

Sequels aren't always about raising the bar. Sometimes, you have to lower it as well. For The Sims 4, Maxis is focused on making sure their sequel can reach the most players possible. "We're really excited to say that players on lower end machines are going to have a much better experience on The Sims 4 than they did with The Sims 3," producer Ryan Vaughn said.

"We know that our players have a wide range of different PC specs," Vaughn told Digital Spy. "We want to make sure that somebody playing on a lower end machine has just as great an experience as somebody on a higher end machine."

Mind you, when thinking about the low end, The Sims 3 targeted the pretty low end. The minimum requirements from 2008 included either a Pentium IV 2.0 GHz or Athlon XP 2000+ processor, 1GB of RAM, and a graphics card with 128MB of RAM.
