Undercover cops infiltrate Need for Speed: Rivals

"That sure is a nice ride that new racer is sporting. Nice sirens, too! Hey...wait a minute...!" Need for Speed: Rivals is adding undercover cops to the ranks of the law.

Remember Paul Walker's character from the first Fast & The Furious movie? He started out as an undercover cop sneaking into the street racing scene. EA and Ghost Games are now going to give players the chance to live out this fantasy (minus Vin Diesel) by introducing undercover cops to Need For Speed: Rivals.

Revealed at Gamescom, the undercover cop is shown driving a racing Mustang before getting radioed in to join a nearby street race. The Mustang seamlessly joins the race and waits for the right moment to bust out the sirens and ambush a nearby Ferrari, cuing up a chase sequence. The undercover cop appears to grant racing cars to the ranks of the lawmakers, adding an extra jolt to an already-fun police experience.

Need For Speed: Rivals speeds into North America on November 19.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
