Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, a compilation of FFX and its sassier cousin, is getting a "Limited Edition" for pre-orders. Plunking down your reservation will net you a 24-page art book with special packaging.

Square Enix also debuted a new side-by-side comparison trailer, so you can see how spiffed up the HD graphics have gotten over the original SD versions. The remaster is coming sometime later this year to PlayStation 3 and Vita, for $39.99. It even includes an extra 30 minutes of story content from scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, to put a nice bow on the whole thing.

So did they remove Tidus? That would be the best feature

I'd rather have tidus than the kids from FF12. At least he was somewhat believable and tolerable by the second half.

Never played it. I stopped bothering after seeing what X-2 was like.

Charlie's angels meets really fun gameplay. I'm still not sure how I managed to play through it but the combat was at least fun

The best feature would be proper blitzball in X-2.

If these are remakes of the international versions, apparently they're going to have Japanese voice tracks with english subtitles. I'll probably pick it up just for that.

They've confirmed it's the international version for FFX and final mission will be in X-2. They've also confirmed that there will not be any dual audio options for the US release.

It's sounding like the Asian and Japanese versions will have English subtitle options with Japanese audio though so could look to import if really want the option.

Wow, there's absolutely no reason not to include it. Why the fuck do they do shit like this? Lame.

The model lip syncing is actually different on the two versions so they'd pretty much have to include two versions of the game rather than just the audio track.

That's still minimal amounts of information to include. And if the original international version included Japanese voice tracks, doesn't that mean they already had done this? Why can't they do it for the US version of the remaster?

Pre-ordered today, quite looking forward to playing in this world again. :) FF X is my favorite Final Fantasy of all time (and I fully expect to get some hate with that comment).
