PS3 firmware 4.45 fix coming June 27

Sony says it has found the issue with the PlayStation 3 firmware version 4.45, and will be issuing a software update to fix it on June 27.

Earlier this week, Sony released firmware 4.45 for PS3. However, many gamers reported problems when updating their systems. A new software update is coming June 27th that is said to resolve the issue.

A post on the PlayStation forums promises more details to come when the update is available We previously heard word that a patch would be made available for systems rendered inoperable by the update, and could be loaded via PS3's safe mode.

        They need to make sure it goes off flawlessly, any other mis-steps could make this hell for sony.

            Obviously affected a very small number of people. Also Haxim, where did Sony touch you as a child? You seem really anti ps4 the last couple weeks. Own both, it's better. ;)

              I don't think I've been particularly down on the PS4. Not much of a fan of the PS3 controllers though, which means mine is mainly relegated to dust collection detail.

                Maybe more on the xbone defense force then hehe. The ds4 sticks are so much better than ds3 for what it's worth. Triggers too.

      Were consoles actually bricked or just disabled? Can the 'dead' ones have the firmware loaded on to a USB stick?

        You can get into the safe mode still, they aren't bricked as in completely unfixable.
