Sony has pulled out another surprise at their E3 event, revealing a teaser for a video game adaptation of the classic film Mad Max. The game will come from Warner Bros. and Avalanche Studios, the makers of the Just Cause series.

While debuting at Sony's presser, WB announced that Mad Max will come to PS3, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in 2014. Players will be able to engage in on-ground or vehicular combat along the open-world of The Wasteland in a quest to create "the ultimate combat vehicle."

Of course, being revealed at a console press conference means that there will be exclusive DLC. The "Road Warrior Survival Kit" will be only on PlayStation.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I met an Aussie who grew up in the town Mad Max was shot. He said the car was still there.

That's what makes me think its going to run this "John Carter of Mars" risk, where all the derivatives had the liberty to take the idea further leaving the original looking kind of flat by comparison.
