One pleasant surprise of this morning's Wii U date dump was the revelation that Need for Speed: Most Wanted is coming to Nintendo's system on March 19. EA and Criterion have detailed a few of the special features that take advantage of the system's unique capabilities.

The Wii U version will include a new "Co-Driver" co-op mode, in which the two players split driving duties. One player drives using the Wii Remote or Wii U Pro Controller, while the other watches a real-time map in GamePad to provide navigation advice, distract police, switch from night to day, or activate an "enhanced performance" mode on cars. Players can also switch mods, cars, and track milestones on the fly using the GamePad, and the game will be fully playable on the GamePad itself in case someone else wants the TV.

The Wii U version will also include the Ultimate Speed Pack, a $10 bit of downloadable content released for the other versions in December that adds five new cars: the Pagani Zonda R, McLaren F1LM, Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, Lamborghini Aventador J, and the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. Speed Points earned on the Wii U version will also add to your total from other platforms, so if you really want to goose your score you could always double up.
