Painkiller Hell & Damnation curses consoles in April

PCnauts have been merrily murdering monsters in Painkiller Hell & Damnation since Halloween, but the consoleers were left hanging until today. Publisher Nordic Games today announced the fast-paced FPS remake will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 5 at the budget price of $29.99.

"We have been working around the clock to bring the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game in line with the quality and standard of the PC game," Nordic's Reinhard Pollice said in the announcement. "There has been a slight delay so that the console communities can enjoy the fiendishly ghoulish experience that we know they want and deserve. In taking this additional time to add the final touches, we know that players will realise that the best things do come to those who wait!"

Painkiller HD (aye, you get it?) is a remake of People Can Fly's classic Painkiller, jazzed up with shiny modern shininess by The Farm 51. It's a zippy, bloody, backwards-running, non-stop-shooting sort of thing.

Now, April 5 is a Friday, so either the European publisher has forgotten that American releases are typically on a Tuesday and neglected to give that date, or it'll be a weekend treat.
