Metro: Last Light live-action trailer is post-apocalyptic

Metro: Last Light has released a live-action trailer, cautioning you not to dismiss the crazy street preachers who warn of the end times.

Live-action is the trend du jour among video game trailers, aimed at setting the tone and mood without spending millions of dollars on computer generated effects. Metro: Last Light is the latest to get in on the act, with a new trailer that captures all the filth-caked preachers and regret of the real game.

Apparently, that rambling madman you pass by in the street was right all along. Just wait until Armageddon comes, and then who will have the last laugh? The answer is "no one" because the apocalypse just isn't all that funny even if you had a good point. But if you want to see a scary future in which the man who smells like feces turns out to be the smartest guy in the room, check out the trailer below.

Dear game makers. Stop making videos and spending tons of cash on these videos that do not show me gameplay!! Thats what people want!! I never want to buy a game that shows me something that is not in the game! I'm tired and not so elequent today, and I'm too lazy to spell check, so hate me if you will but no more videos that dont show for the most part real gameplay!!!

It's a story trailer, not a gameplay trailer. Besides, you should already be vaguely aware of what the gameplay will be like since you should have played the first one!

Depends. Mostly they suck. The good ones, I have time for. Just end with gameplay though.

The point of a trailer is to give you a taste of the experience the game is trying to deliver. Metro's appeal is its story and setting.

Often gameplay is the selling point and that's all I'm going to care about, sure. But sometimes, like in this case, I wouldn't even click on a gameplay trailer because that's not what's interesting about the title.

Can't wait to be Артём again. Just hope the game won't be rig-crushing.

I personally think this trailer was a waste of time/money, yeah it's a story trailer but this is a game.... Yes I want a good story like the first one but focus on showing that off not this...

Guess you guys don't remember trailers/commercials for games in the 80s/early 90s lol.

This is a favorable way of showing what you can expect the tone/mood of the game to be like and that is definitely worth it.

Also it's not like live action trailers replace gameplay trailers. It's an additional thing. You'll see more gameplay later down the road. Actually, there has already been some,. This, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcdiGbVQiqM
