New game releases of November 12-18

What kind of a maniac game would try to launch in the same week as a brand new console, thinking it had any chance of being noticed? Well, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is having a go. Yes, next week is rather quiet aside from the stomping great games monsters that are Cod Blops 2 and Nintendo's shiny Wii U.

Wow, that kind of crept up on me. I can't believe a new console is coming out this week. Is it me or has it been oddly quiet for a new console launch. Has anybody been seeing commercials or anything? I think by this time in the Wii's life cycle they were having people on talk shows playing it etc.

It's Wii 1.5. It will sell a ton but other than that...

i played it at bestbuy. i know 10 minutes isnt long enough to see all that a machine has to offer, but absolutely nothing i did see impressed me. i was also disappointed with the picture quality of the screen on the controller. i understand it would cost a lot more if they had made it better, but my stance is if youre gonna make it mediocre, why bother with it at all?

because they expect it to sell a shit ton, like the mediocre WII.

Yeah their target audience isn't exactly going to notice it's not an IPS panel with capacitive multitouch or whatever. (don't even know what kind of panel it is honestly)

Well, to be fair the only playable demo on the system is Rayman right now. Which actually does look very nice and very crisp. I didn't get the same impression from the screen on the controller, I thought it actually looked a bit nicer than I first expected it to.

But in the end, I don't really need another console at or around the level of the 360. I still have more games than I can play through for that system. The only thing which is going to get me to buy a new system is when something comes around which just blows me away. I really can't wait to see the next generation consoles (the REAL next generation).

Yeah Nintendo have been pretty quiet on this. I think they're doing a soft launch because all the preorders are already sold out. They'll probably save their marketting push (And $$$) until closer to Christmas.

Is it possible to preorder the Wii U anywhere or is it sold out all over the place?

I don't understand; did Sega avoid the Wii when making PS3/360 games?

It's not Sega, it's being published by Nintendo. As in, Nintendo are putting money behind it. No way will it go to other platforms any time soon, if ever.

Maybe MS and Sony should have ponied up some $ when Sega said they were losing money and cancelling everything but sonic.

I'm going to half heartedly try to pick a Wii U up by checking various stores... But I don't think I'll be too upset if I can't find one

Not fan of corridor shooters. I get why some folks like the multiplayer, but it gets old after a while. More interested in hearing more about the WIIU.

The Wii U seems to have one of the best launch game lineups of any system, but with the economy at still at a crawl here in the U.S.A., will games still sell? Will there be a surplus of Wii U systems on the shelves like the PS3 for the first year it was out?
