We just got word yesterday that the Mass Effect movie has swapped writers, meaning it's probably still a couple years away. But the other Mass Effect movie, the anime-styled Paragon Lost, is due in just a few short weeks. A new sneak peek gives a lengthy look at the flick.

Paragon Lost focuses its attention on James Vega, the meat-head hanging around the Normandy's vehicle bay in Mass Effect 3. Before he got roped into Shepard's squad, he was a Special Forces leader protecting a colony from the Collectors. The movie releases on Blu-Ray and DVD November 13.

I still like the Mass Effect series and universe a lot. Unlike most people, I can forgive the bad ending of ME3 because the rest was quite good.

Even for someone like me, it's baffling that anyone would think James Vega was a popular... or remotely likable... character. At all. I can probably think of no less than 20 ME characters better suited to have their own side story.

Heh, characters believe what they do can change their situation, almost makes me want to play the game (not really).
