Shack PSA: Battlefield 3 'Back to Karkand' DLC invades PC, Xbox 360 today

As promised--and a week after the PlayStation 3 release--the 'Back to Karkand' downloadable content for Battlefield 3 launched today on PC and Xbox 360. To celebrate the launch, EA has whipped up a little video showing off its remake of the Battlefield 2 map Sharqi Peninsula.

Back to Karkand packs four grimy remakes of classic Battlefield series maps, plus new weapons, vehicles, and other sorts of things that make shooting faces fun.

It's free if you pre-ordered BF3 to score an upgrade to its 'Limited Edition.' If not, you can buy Back to Karkand now through Origin and the Xbox Live Marketplace for $14.99 (1200 MSP).

  FYI for 360: there's a 2gb title update for 360 that's triggered when you finally get to the main menu. i think that has the update in it if you have the LE. the ticker in game said LE has to download that first.

    If you're getting the content missing issue, I quit, battlelog, emptied my cache, reinstalled the battlelog plugin (even after installing the update) with the browser closed, quit Origin, rebooted and it worked.

  Played all of the maps for hours today, fucking awesome! So much more fun than the new maps sorry to say. The old gameplay was much better by faaaaaaaaaaaaar!

  It was like stepping into an old pair of shoes. Amazing. Played a solid 3 hours last night and it was by far the best session I've had in BF3. I'm not sure if it's the nostalgia, or if these old maps, which were designed purely for PC gameplay are actually this much better. But man, it's fun times.

  "100 AR kills" doable.
  
  "20 M320 kills" also doable.
  
  "5 SQTDM wins" somehow infinitely less doable than the above two options. Not to mention my primary buddy in these games never wants to play SQTDM again. Bloody hell.
