Dead Island 2011 Release Announced With Fabulous Trailer

Though it dropped off the radar for a while, Techland's open-world zombie nightmare Dead Island will finally be released later this year, publisher Deep Silver has announced.
While zombie nerds will doubtless find something to quibble about, Dead Island sounds glorious. Trapped on a tropical island resort overrun by zombies, players--plural, because the game supports co-op for up to four--will be hacking their way through the hordes to find a way off. Firearms are in short supply so combat will focus on melee with makeshift, customisable weapons. There are also player classes with progression, granting new skills along the way.
Dead Island will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This year will also see Techland release Call of Juarez: The Cartel, a modern-day take on its western series.
