Telltale Details Episodic 'Back to the Future'

Soon you won't need a flux capacitor or 1.21 gigawatts of electricity to get your time-travelling on. Telltale Games, purveyors of excellent episodic adventures like the Sam & Max series, have dropped details on its planned video game adaptation of the classic Back to the Future film franchise.

The five-part episodic Back to the Future series will follow iconic film characters Doc Brown and Marty McFly. Actor Christopher Lloyd will reprise his role as the eccentric scientist, while Marty will only share a likeness with Canadian actor Michael J. Fox.

The story for the new games hasn't been revealed, though the famous DeLorean time machine, the town of Hill Valley, and good old year of 1985 will all play a role. Screenwriter Bob Gale is also consulting with Telltale about the game's storyline, so it's probably safe to expect an authentic Back to the Future experience.

An exact release date for the first episode hasn't been specified, but Telltale notes that it will be released "soon after the Blu-ray debut and DVD release of the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy on October 26." Though platforms haven't been confirmed, Telltale's previous work has been released on PC, Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network and WiiWare.

What is this affliction with mass? Is something wrong with gravitational pull in the future?
