BioShock 2 DLC 'Minerva's Den' Arrives Aug. 31 for $10

2K Marin has revealed BioShock 2's "narrative driven" downloadable content pack, Minerva's Den, will launch at the end of this month.

According to Joystiq, the content will be available on August 31 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is priced at $9.99 / 800 Microsoft Points. The content will be available for PC users at "a later date."

Minvera's Den is a self-contained experience that runs parallel to the game's main story, starring "an all-new character." Players will visit three new areas, including the "never-before-seen" Rapture Central Computing district, in order to help Brigid Tenenbaum uncover "dark" and "hidden" secrets. Which are usually the best kind of secrets.

2K revealed that owners of the DLC "Protector Trials" will be granted access to the Master Protector tonic in Minerva's Den. This powerful tonic simultaneously increases the harvest time for thirsty Little Sisters and the amount of ADAM they collect.

Xav de Matos was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

If 3 new areas are 3 new maps, then this DLC's huge in terms of gameplay % for the total game.

And if they're on the same level of excellence as 1/3 of BioShock2 maps, the throwback ones, then 10 bucks is completely justified. Imagine LGS charging a bit more for more Thief maps, or ISA for Deus Ex maps.
