Activision is offering an unusual preorder bonus with Guitar Hero 5. By buying the game ahead of time at any retailer, customers will also receive Guitar Hero Van Halen for free, and in advance of the title's December release.

The deal will also be offered on specially marked in-store copies of Guitar Hero 5 during the month of September. Customers must simply visit the official offer page to redeem a code, and allow up to six weeks for delivery of Van Halen.

Guitar Hero 5 is coming on September 1, while Guitar Hero Van Halen will only hit stores on December 22. For a full track list for both games, click through:

      Well, yes, in a way, as there's already people bitching about the VH setlist.

      However, I see it as finally, FINALLY, some recognition by Activision that people are getting tired of their release schedule.

      This also makes me wonder if GH:VH will also be exportable to GH5/BH

        If the GHVH tracks are exportable to GH5 (even as a one time ~$5 charge) this is a terrific deal. Otherwise it's giving out a stand alone track pack to boost pre-order sales of GH5.
