Studio director Dylan Jobe and several members of Warhawk developer Incognito Entertainment today announced they have left the company to found LightBox Interactive.

Though departing the PlayStation-focused, Sony-owned Incognito, Jobe and co. will continue to develop for PlayStation platforms.

No projects were mentioned in the announcement, but a rumor out of Kotaku claims the company is working on a Warhawk-like flight combat game set in space.

I'm sure this'll be as smashingly successful as all those other groups that leave successful studios to form their own and make games in the same genres.

Like those groups that left Blizzard!

Evidently you haven't worked for a living under the thumb of an overreaching company for long.

Anyone who has the balls to leave job security to take a shot at self-sufficiency should be commended.

I agree with cell9song, and also with Loiosh (to a point), typically the trend is that splinter developer groups don't have a lot of success, but that's no reason for them not to change the norm. I think them taking a shot at what they want to do should be commended.
