Live Action Turok Film Planned, Stars Adam Beach

A live-action movie based on the dinosaur-killing exploits of Turok the Dinosaur Hunter is currently in the early stages of production and will star Adam Beach, the Flags of Our Fathers and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit veteran has revealed.

"We're about to set up meetings to develop a script and put it out there," Beach told MTV News. "I'll have to beef up, and be a good guy, and save the world!"

Beach previously served as the voice of Turok in the recent straight-to-DVD animated film Turok: Son of Stone. That DVD followed the latest Turok game, which was developed by Propaganda Games and arrived on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Though Turok's recent popularity can be traced back to Acclaim's 1997 Nintendo 64 launch title, the property first appeared as a comic book, penned by Rex Maxon, in the 1950s.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

No mention of who might be the director? Obviously there's only one experienced hand at game to movie directiing, and I'm sure he can't wait to foul another one up.
