New DOOM 3 Linux Binaries

New Linux DOOM 3 client & server binaries have been released, offering a number of bug fixes as well as new sound code. You can read more about this new sound code in .this plan update by id programmer Timothee Besset. Thanks Crusader.

    Hey, id is using bit torrent to distribute their files now. How great is that.

      Yeah, I noticed that too. Pretty damn cool. Should help with the initial crush at least until demand wears off.

      They've done that for a while... Enemy Territory has been available over BitTorrent for quite a while... :)

        Yeah, but from their *internal* zerowing server tracker?

        All of their files make their way fast into some tracker somewhere else. But it's the first time I have personally seem them linking to their torrent tracker instead of their ftp dir.

          Yepp, exactly from their internal zerowing torrent tracker. I grabbed ET from there about a year ago, if not more... This link, to be sepcific:

          Although, I guess they moved it now as it four-oh-fours... :)

            Ah, cool, I stand corrected then.

            I remember the sdk release though, and their server was pretty much slashdotted, and I thought at the time how better it'd have been if they released it as a torrent. Good thing they made it 'official' for all releases now.
