Red Dead Redemption 2's Online Features Absent From Third Trailer, But John Marston Wasn't
The latest trailer gives us another look at Red Dead Redemption 2's story.
Stacking onto a week of good news for fans of western shooters that started with Call of Juarez rights being given back to Techland, the third trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 has arrived. The previous trailer focused on the single-player campaign and this new one gives us an even deeper look with a cameo from Red Dead Redemption's protagonist, John Marston.
The official press release for the third trailer includes the breakdown for Red Dead Redemption 2's story:
"The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.
After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him."
Previously, it was rumored that Rockstar is working on a battle royale mode for Red Dead Redemption 2. The report also included two more traditional modes that will serve as the team deathmatch and objective-based modes for the game's online counterpart. It's been expected that the new online mode for Red Dead Redemption 2 would rival Grand Theft Auto V's online world, but we must wait and see.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is due to release on October 26, 2018, for PS4 and Xbox One. Stay tuned to Shacknews for the new trailer this week and for more updates as we get closer to launch.
