How to Get a Sparrow in Destiny 2
Learn how Guardians can unlock their Sparrow in Destiny 2.
Players who are making their way through the Destiny 2 campaign might be wondering why they must walk everywhere. Where are the Sparrows that helped you zip around planets in Destiny 1? Well, you’re not doing anything wrong, you just need to meet some specific requirements to get a Sparrow in Destiny 2, and both are going to be several hours into your play time.
How to Get a Sparrow in Destiny 2
Before we outline the two ways to get a Sparrow in Destiny 2, we should let you know that discussing these methods will lead to spoilers. If you don’t want to deal with spoilers, go to our Destiny 2 complete strategy guide and find a less spoiler-filled article to read.
Method 1: Complete the Destiny 2 campaign
Method 2: Buy a Bright Engram at Level 20
The first method is the free and natural way. Enjoy your time progressing through the Destiny 2 campaign until you’re finished. Once done, head to the rebuilt Tower and speak to Amanda Holliday in the Hangar. She will allow you to choose a Sparrow at no cost.
If you’d like a better Sparrow, or want to get one a little sooner, you can reach Level 20 fast and get one by buying a Bright Engram from Tess Everis. The box you get from Tess Everis could contain an exotic Sparrow, but there are no guarantees. You’ll also receive a free Bright Engram when you complete the campaign, which will give you a shot at a Sparrow as well.
While you’re at the Farm attempting to get a Sparrow from Eververse, consider trying your hand at the Sentry 4 jumping puzzle that gives you the Scouting Commander Buff. Completing the puzzle doesn’t seem to give you anything for your trouble, but it’s something to do to kill time while waiting for your fireteam.
